Ernest Marshall Brackett, Jr. of Monroe, passed away on December 2, 2020. He was born on October 5, 1935 in Athens, GA to the late Ernest Marshall Brackett, Sr. and Julia Claire Cook Brackett. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Betty McCants Brackett; his brother, Charles Brackett; and his great grandson, Jameson Marshall McGill.

Mr. Brackett served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and was honorably discharged in 1956. He graduated for the University of Georgia in 1959. He spent most of his working career in the textile and garment industry. He loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, his family and Little League Baseball, in that order.

Mr. Brackett is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Marshall and Ann Brackett of Wake Forest, NC, and Gary Brackett of Milledgeville, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and Dave Puffer of Des Moines, IA, and Beth and Randy Starrett of Monroe, GA. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Ashleigh Brackett, Gregory and wife, Kayla Brackett, Zachary Brackett, Tanner Brackett, Seth Phillips, Maya Phillips, Brad and wife, Sallie Starrett, Brittany and husband, Marcus McGill. His is also survived by his brother, Dr. Benjamin Brackett and his family.

Services will be held at Harmony Baptist Church followed by a burial at Hill Haven Memorial Gardens in Monroe, GA.
