Michael was known for being a jokester and for having a lead foot in his young adulthood. Worked at his beloved Uncle Martin & Aunt Gasberdena Hein machine shop in Wichita for several years. He met Christine Lies through mutual friends in Andale KS. They were married on October 15, 1971. They lived on a farm on east edge of Wichita. The couple welcomed 3 children. As Wichita expanded and encompassed the farm they lived on, Mike & Chris made the decision to move to Lincolnville in 1980. They farmed together & Chris worked as a nurse in town. Their family grew by 3 more children, for a total of 6. He raised kids, grew crops, and tended his cattle herd for decades until his health no longer allowed.
Survived by his sons Patrick Combs of Lincolnville, KS, and Martin (Melissa) Combs of Lincolnville, KS : daughters Jill (Jon) Meier of Hillsboro, KS, Michelle (Tony) Conrad of Paxico, KS, Stephanie Haws (Travis Matthews) of Herington, KS and Heather Combs of Hillsboro, KS: Six granddaughters and four grandsons. Sisters; Susie Krier, Mary Guldner and Sara Hill. He was preceded in death by his wife Christine Combs, parents Jerry & Rosemary Combs, sister DeeAnn Lacy & brother John Combs.
Michael will be layed to rest, by his wife, December 11th 2020 at 10:30 a.m. St John Nepomucene Cemetery Pilsen, KS.
