Joseph Faltine, Republican committeeman, of 545 E. Walnut St., died yesterday at 11:05 a.m. He was sixty-two. Faltine was stricken ill at his home and taken to St. Joseph's hospital in the city police ambulance. He was pronounced dead on arrival. He had been under the care of a physician for a heart condition. Death resulted from a coronary occlusion. He had been employed as custodian at the Lancaster County Court House for 22 years. Early in life he operated his own trucking business and later was employed by the Eidemiller Coal Co. He served as Republican committeeman in the 5th precinct of the 6h Ward for the past ten years. An ardent sports fan, he, at one time, managed a semi-professional baseball team which played at Rossmere. Born in Lancaster, a son of the late August and Monica Rheinhold Faltine, he was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society, and the St. Vincent de Paul Society. He also was a member of the TBA. Surviving are his wife, Ida May Hacker Faltine, two daughters, Ruth M., wife of Charles F. Braun, and Catherine T., wife of Richard A. Werhel, both of Lancaster; two grandchildren, two brothers, Benedict A. and Paul P., and a sister, Frances R., wife of Abbott S. Adams, all of Lancaster. (Lancaster New Era - Sep 3, 1957)
