Mrs. Hallie Elizabeth Tart Benson, 92, of Dunn passed away quietly Thursday, November 26, 2020 at Harnett Woods Nursing and Rehab.

She was born August 25, 1928 in Harnett County to the late Tee Ellington and Mary Tingen Tart. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Angus Benson and her son, Scott Benson; two brothers, Arlon and Carlie Tart, and three sisters Tessie Davis, Acely Byrd, and Delores Sullivan.

She enjoyed sewing and working in the garden and taking care of her cats including her special cat, Susie.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Erwin Memorial Park with Rev. Hollis Fedrick officiating.

She is survived by her daughter, Tonia Maynor and husband Hughie; son, Michael Benson and wife Kathleen of Raleigh; grandchildren, Karen Beitar. Hope Thompson, Paula Day, Brandy Maynor, Paul Maynor; great grandchildren, Sarah Beitar, Chris Ponsford, Jamie Thompson. Naomi Day, Luke Day, Britton Smith, Xzavier Monk, Kaleb Smith, Justyce Smith, Haley Maynor, Paul Maynor, Michael Maynor, Cassidy Maynor and Eli Maynor.

Arrangements are by Skinner & Smith Funeral Home in Dunn.
