CHAPIN - Services for Edward William Danby 87, will be held Sunday, April 9, 2006, at 1 p.m. at White Rock Baptist Church with burial to follow in First Baptist Church Montmorenci Cemetery, in Montmorenci, S.C. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Saturday April 8, 2006, at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Chapin Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the White Rock Baptist Church.
Mr. Danby was born April 7, 1919, in Jedburg, S.C. He was the son of the late Edward Willard Danby and Annie Cecile Hudson Danby. He was a member of White Rock Baptist Church. He was also a Deacon Emeritus at Dutch Fork Baptist Church. He was a member of the Arcadia Masonic Lodge No. 285 in Dentsville and also a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in WWII.
Mr. Danby is survived by his wife, Mildred Ford Danby of White Rock; daughter, Brenda (Ken) Smith of Little Mountain and son-in-law, Ron Goodwin of Greenville; four grandsons, five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Gwen Goodwin, and two brothers
