Mr Danby was born in Michigan on May 12, 1889, the son of the late Harvey C. Danby and Lydia Luella Higbee Danby. He had lived in Columbia for the past 30 years and was employed by the city. He was a member of the West Columbia Baptist Church.
Survivors include his widow Mrs Cecile Hutson Danby: three sons , Edward W. Danby of Columbia, Harvey T. Danby of Johnston and Furman C. Danby of the Navy: one sister Flossie Van Buskirk of Michigan: one brother James Danby of Michigan and four grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The body is at the Thompson Funeral Home.
