Larry Dean Lucas, 65, of Littlefield, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2020 in Lubbock. He was born July 6, 1955 in Wellington, Texas to Morris Lee Lucas and Jonelle (Kidd) Lucas.

Larry married Linda Christopher March 6, 1993 in Idalou, Texas. Together they made many miles, Larry taught Linda how to drive his 18 wheeler and she went on the road with him, visiting 48 states. He hauled cattle for years, then most recently petroleum. Larry made many friends who were like family thru the years driving a truck. He also was a welder and built trailers and could fix anything. He also was dedicated to Brownfield Co-op for several years hauling fuel. In his spare time Larry enjoyed watching rodeos, especially bull riding. He was strong in his faith, a Reverend and assistant pastor, who read his bible and devotional every morning. Larry was active with the nursing home ministry at Harmonee House in Amherst, where he loved to preach and spread the Word of the Lord. After God, his biggest devotion was his wife and then his family, especially his seven grandchildren who affectionately called him “Grandpa Larry” or “Larry Poppins”.

Larry is survived by his wife, Linda Lucas of Littlefield; three sons, Cory Dean Lucas and wife Edna of Wolfforth, Texas, Dallas Coe Lucas and wife Melissa of Odessa, Texas and Brady Dan Herzog of Lubbock; seven grandchildren, Patrick and Clarisa Herzog of Lubbock, Bailey Herzog of Arkansas, Jordan Herzog of Arkansas, Maraih DeLeon of Lubbock, Esai DeLeon of Odessa and Zephaniah DeLeon of Odessa; two sisters, Carolyn Tobar and husband Louie of Gardendale, Texas and their four children and two grandchildren and Rhonda Diane Wright and husband Randy of Farmersville, Texas and their two children and three grandchildren and one on the way; and numerous friends and church family. He was preceded in death by his parents.
