Civil engineer. He was best-known for intrducing the Brotherhood Engine, for driving torpedoes by means of compressed air. He became a partner in Compton Street engine works, Goswell Road, Lodon in 1867 and in 1872, designed a air compressor and a servo-motor for torpedoes in 1876.
