Hedwig Iwachiw, 86 died on Friday, Oct. 31, 2014. She was born and raised in Germany and moved to Somerset in 1956 living there until she settled in Hillsborough in 1979. Hedwig worked as a bus driver in Franklin Township and then Ethicon in Bridgewater for many years before her retirement. She was a parishioner of St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in New Brunswick. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Jerry (2000). Surviving are her son, Roman Iwachiw and his wife Nadia of Syracuse, NY; her daughters, Irene Zoog and her husband Rick of Plainsboro, NJ and Elaine Iwachiw of Hillsborough; her 7 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be Monday at 7pm in the Hillsborough Funeral Home, 796 US Hwy 206, Hillsborough. A graveside service will be Tuesday at 11am in St. Andrew's Cemetery, South Bound Brook. Visiting will be Monday from 5pm to 8:30pm and Tuesday 9am to 10am in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made online in her name to the National Parkinson Foundation www.parkinson.org
