Henry M. Bates was born in Darlington July 7, 1868, and died at his home in that city Feb. 22, 1911, aged 43 years. Darlington has always been his home. April 24, 1892, he was united in marriage to Miss Margaret E. Murphy, also of Darlington. Mr. Bates has been in failing health for some years, and his death was not unexpected.
He leaves a wife, and two children, a boy and a girl. The funeral was held Friday and burial was in the Catholic cemetery at Darlington.
