Margaret Simon Ackle, 87, of Houston Avenue, died of heart failure Sunday at Methodist Medical Center.

Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Columb's Episcopal Church with burial in Lakewood Memorial Park. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. today at Lakewood Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ackle was a Yazoo City native and a communicant of St. Columb's Episcopal Church. She had lived in Jackson since 1921 and was a retired hostess for Frist Presbyterian Church and Central Presbyterian Church, retiring in 1971. She was a member of Cedars of Lebanon Club and Syrian Lebanese Heritage Club. She served as matriarch of Cedars Club with Honor and Dignity, Garden Clubs of Mississippi, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and Knitters Club of All Saints Episcopal Church.

Survivors include: daughters, Helen Lyons of Jackson, Pauline Bearden of Nashville and Lillian Psanos of Franklin, Tenn.; son, Edward Isaac Ackle of Jackson; sister, Louise Wehl of Mobile; brothers, Eddie Simon of Vicksburg and George Simon of Pontotoc; and seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
