Edward Isaac Ackle left this world June 5, 2017 at the age of age 88. There will be a memorial service at Leavell Woods United Methodist church, Jackson MS on Thursday, June 8th at 11:00a.m. with visitation at 10:00a.m.

Edwards was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Lorraine Brister Ackle, one sister, Pauline Bearden (Tommy) and step-daughter, Kelly Meadows Gregory (Tommy).

He is survived by his wife Grace Meadows Ackle.
Two sisters, Helen Lyons of Pearl and Lillian Psanos of Franklin TN. Two nieces, Cindy Lyons of Flowood and Kim Umbach (Ed) of Franklin TN. Nephews, Johnny Lyons of Flowood and Mike Pasanos (Cindy) of Franklin TN. Two great-nieces, Brianna Psanos and Brittany White (Jordan) and great-nephew, Ellis White. Step-sons, Bud Meadows (Jamie) of Vicksburg MS and Tommy Gregory of Union MS. Step-daughter, Cynthia Montalbano (Pete) of Vicksburg MS.

He was a proud military veteran and retired from the army after serving for 30 years. He served in World War II, the Korean Conflict and Vietnam.

After retirement he enjoyed the restaurant business, cattle farming, dancing, cooking and traveling. He was an avid gardener. He was an volunteer at the VA Hosptial for over 30 years.
