(21) III Elnathan Allen, (b Lancaster, Feb 11, 1666) married Mercy Rice (22), and resided at Watertown, Sudbury, Hopkinton, and last at Shrewsbury, where he was ad to the church, from that in Hopkinton 1730.
His wife Mercy, died at Hopkinton 1727 age 57.
He died at Shrewsbury, "On Oct 1, 1735, while standing on the hinder end of a cart load of stalks, his oxen started whereby he fell off and was killed in his 69th year. Boston Newspaper
He was the son of Daniel (died Sudbury 1706) and Mary (Sherman) Allen, son of Walter (freeman 1640) and Rebecca Allen of Newbury, Watertown, 1662 and died at Charlestown 1681.
(147). Obadiah, Jan 19, 1694/95 married Susannah Pratt, May 17, 1720, born 1693, daughter of John and Ruth Pratt, brother of Ephraim of Shutesbury. She died at Shrews, Feb 16, 1740, aged 47. He next married Jemima widow of Isaac Tomlin Jr., (not the daughter of Isaac Tomlin as said in the history of Shrewsbury). May 19, 1741. She was born 1701, daughter of Supply and Susannah (Barns) Weeks of Marlboro' and married Isaac Tomlin, May or June 1730, who died at Westboro, May 19, 1739. Being the same day of the same month of their marriage, and of her 2nd marriage. Obadiah Allen had 9 Children at Shrewsbury; his death is not on record.
