Hazel May Amerine Boals-Acord, 73 NEWARK - Hazel May Amerine Boals-Acord, 73, of Heath, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005, at Licking Memorial Hospital, after a lengthy illness. She was born May 26, 1932, in Creola, Vinton County, to the late Chauncey Nial and Geneva Arminda Congrove Amerine. Mrs. Acord retired after 20 plus years of service from Licking Memorial Hospital, and she worked at Liberty Hospital in Missouri and other nursing facilities throughout the midwest and attended the Vineyard of Licking County. She enjoyed cooking, had a love for reading cookbooks, enjoyed watching NASCAR and was a big fan of 24 Jeff Gordon, and she enjoyed attending auctions.
She is survived by her former husband, Robert G. Boals of Newark; a son, Robert N. Boals of Newark; a daughter, Gennie (Randy) Agin of Hanover; a granddaughter, Amanda (Josh) Crabtree of Buckeye Lake; a great-granddaughter, Makayla May Crabtree of Buckeye lake; a brother, Charles "Buck" Melvin Amerine of Logan; many nieces and nephews; and her faithful companion, Buttercup.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, George Edward Ringheiser and Larry Franklin Amerine; and a sister, Betty Lou Amerine Klump.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 7, 2005, at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Osborne and the Rev. Robert L Knox : officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery.
