Electricity came to Mink Creek in 1926. It was brought over the hill from Oneida station by the Utah Power and Light Company. Each family paid a set up fee to be wired and hooked up to the electricity. The assessment was $225.00 for each family for the line and poles. But, before the lines finished most people put more money in because all of the families did not participate at that time. This meant that we no longer needed to use kerosine lamps. My parents has one of the first telephones in Mink creek and also were the first to have a radio.
When I was twenty-three I was called to serve a mission in the Louisiana Texas Mission.
The first part of January 1938, I along with my brothers Lloyd and Carl and with the help of our father, we purchased a 640 acre section of Land from Larenzo Baird. The farm is located at the head of Mink Creek. this is the farm that I lived on after I got married to Pearl Hulse in April 1938 and we have been blessed with Seven Children.
