Mable Wieser, 84, of Rosebud died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, at her residence. Services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday in Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud with the Rev. Lee Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery in Rosebud. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Wieser was born Sept. 9, 1923, in Luling, Texas to Thomas and Lena Wright Robbins. She grew up in Baytown and graduated from Cedar Bayou High School in Baytown. She received an Associates of Arts degree in Nursing from Houston Junior College of the University of Houston. She was a graduate of the Jefferson Davis Hospital School of Nursing in Houston. While in nursing school, she met Evelyn Wieser and they became best friends and roommates. Evelyn introduced Mable to her brother, Harold, and they were married on Dec. 23, 1945. In return, Mable introduced Evelyn to Archie West and later Archie and Evelyn were also married. Mrs. Wieser volunteered for the U.S. Nurses Cadet Corp at Jefferson Davis Hospital. She became a permanent resident of Rosebud in 1975. She had worked as a Registered Nurse and was Director of Nursing at Gulf Coast Hospital in Baytown and Heritage House Nursing Home in Rosebud. She was a member of Rosebud Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband, Harold Wieser, Sr., of Rosebud; son, Harold Wieser, Jr. and wife, Billie, of Rosebud: daughter, Becky Lundell and husband, Mike, of Luling; sister, Anna Belle Trahan, of Baytown; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to The Woodland Cemetery Association or the charity of one's choice.
