Marcia L. Gerlach–Stapert, 82, of Martinsville, passed away on November 8, 2020. She was born on March 3, 1938 in Upland, IN to the late George and Effie (Shetterly) Ellis.
Marcia attended Zion Baptist Fellowship Church. Marcia was a medical assistant at Gosport Nursing Home for many years. She enjoyed to read, do embroidery and make baby quilts. Marcia was in Homemakers Club for 40 years and was Vice President of the P.T.A. She is going to be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.
She is preceded in death by a grandchild, Devin; two great-grandchildren, Victoria and Isaiah; daughter-in-law, Cathi Brown; and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her husband, Ron Stapert; four sons; two daughters; several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Friends and family will gather to celebrate Marcia’s life on Saturday, November 14, 2020 from 1 to 5 PM at Carlisle–Branson Funeral Service & Crematory. The funeral service will begin promptly at 2 PM on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at Zion Baptist Fellowship Church, 7520 State Road 142, Martinsville, IN 46151. Burial will follow at Cunot Cemetery.
