Ruth E. (Ellis) Hoppes, 71, of Anderson, died June 30, 2007, at St. John's Medical Center, following an extended illness.
She was born April 23,1936, in Brookston, the daughter of George and Effie Estal (Shetterly) Ellis.
Ruth was a homemaker.
She was a member of Gospel Light Chapel and of the Eagles 174 Auxiliary.
Survivors include her daughter, Debbra and husband Rodger Stewart of Anderson; her son, Randy and wife Debbie Sue Wildoner of Anderson; a grandson, Jeremy and wife Melissa Randolph of Anderson; a great-granddaughter, Anastasia Randolph; two brothers, George and wife Georgia Ellis and Leonard Lee Ellis; and a sister, Marcia Gerlach. Also surviving is her special friend, Donna Carper; and many other special friends.
The family wishes to extend thanks to Dr. Juthani and staff members at St. John's Hospital for the special care given their loved one.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, George and Effie Estal (Shetterly) Ellis; her husband, Howard "Hoppie" Hoppes; four sisters; and two brothers.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes and Crematory, South Chapel, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson, officiated by the Rev. Loyce Webb. Burial will take place at Pleasant Walk Cemetery, Anderson.
Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the south chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to Gospel Light Chapel.
