John D. Bagby, 72, of 624 Green St., Rockton, died Wednesday at Swedish American Hospital, Rockford, after a long illness.
He was born April 13, 1898, in Huntsville, Mo., the son of Daniel and Lydia Foster Bagby. He married Tula Caldwell Sept. 20, 1916, in Paris, Mo. She died in 1952.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Rockton.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. David (Mildred) Davenport, of Rockton and Mrs. Arthur (Geraldine) Danielson of Roscoe; one sister, Mrs. Robert Ragsdale of Pueblo, Colo.; six granchildren and thee great-granchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday from the Rosman-Uehling-Kinzer Blackhawk Chapel, the Rev. Russell Lambert officiating. Burial will be in Rockton Cemetery.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Friday with informal visitation at the chapel.
