This is a short story about Bud's life not his obit.

Ernest Dwain Wilson

His birth certificate says Ernest Benton Wilson Jr., but because his Mama always called him Dwain, you know him as Ernest Dwain Wilson. Of course, those close to him know him as "Bud or Buddy". When Bud was born his family lived in Lubbock, Texas. When he was a few months old they moved to Monterey, California and lived on Foam Street with his Grandparents James and Julia Stacy. Shortly after that the family of five moved into a house of their own on Spencer Street. Then they moved to Merced and finally to Fresno, California.

In 1953 Bud was helping his dad work on a car, when a bolt vibrated loose and flew up and hit him in the left eye. He had to be hospitalized for about three weeks and was almost completely blind in that eye. It caused quite a bit of damage so he suffered throughout his lifetime because of it.

On January 29, 1957 Bud joined The Woodpecker Patrol, Troop 18 of The Boy Scouts and in April of 1957 he was a Second Class Scout of Troop 18, Sequoia Council.

Bud worked for his dad in the family business Wilson's Furniture and Appliance and in the early 1960's, he went to technical college and became a respected Independent Appliance and Refrigeration Technician. In the late 1960's Bud also worked for his sister and her husband in Stockton, California at their Wig shop as their stock supervisor.

Dad was quite the outdoorsman. He loved to go fishing & frog gigging. Dad and Mom would take us kids and our friends camping at least twice a year if not three or four times. To get to Rock Creek (our favorite spot) we drove way up into the mountains where we had a mountain on one side of us and a cliff on the other. Sometimes it got pretty scary, especially if there were any oncoming traffic, like logging trucks. Dad enjoyed relaxing with a Milwaukee's Best and Bel-Air Kings.

Bud passed through this life as his dad's right hand man, a guardian to his mother, a mentor to his brother, a rock to his sisters, a caring uncle and a loving father to his children.

Bud passed away January 15, 1993 at home in Fresno surrounded by his family. At the time of Bud's death he was survived by his mother Vernie, his wife Lynda, a brother, 4 sisters, 5 sons, 3 daughters, 12 grandchildren, 9 nieces and nephews and 10 great nieces and nephews.

We will always miss you!
