Clarence R Baker Accidentally Shot And Killed
Near Swift Current, Sask, Canada, on June 22, 1910, Clarence had gone to a neighbor and borrowed a rifle with the intention of shooting coyotes. On leaving for home he had gone but a short distance when the neighbor, Mr Davey, heard a shot and on going to the door saw the young man fall. He lived in a semiconscious state for about an hour after the accident but was not able to give any account of the occurrence.
His body was taken to Rockford, Wash, and laid beside his father in Mica Park cemetery. A very large number of friends assisted in the last sad rites. All who knew Clarence liked him.
The deceased, Clarence R Baker, was born on Indian Creek, near Greenville, Monroe Co, W Va. 21 years ago. His parents were Robt P and Mrs Mary E Baker, who moved from Monroe county to the state of Washington several years ago.
