MRS. M. BAKER LAID AT REST-----Funeral of Pioneer Woman Held from Rockford Church.
ROCKFORD, Wash. Feb. 9 - The funeral of Mrs. Mary Baker, age 65, was held from the Methodist church today, the Rev. M.I. Anderson, Farmington, and the Rev. R.W. Maulden officiating.
Mrs. Baker was born in Virginia and was married to Robert Baker in 1887. A few years later they settled on a homestead six miles north of Rockford. Mr. Baker died in 1906 but Mrs. Baker remained on the homestead until 18 months ago, when she and her son and daughter went to California for her health. She died at Bakersfield. Mrs. Baker is survived by eight children, Mrs. Walter Jones, Colfax; Mrs. Allen VanTine, Elberton; Mrs. John Hooper, Portland, Ore.; Mrs. Clark Guinn, in Virginia; Mrs. James Davey, Freeman; Miss Kathryn Baker and Paul C. Baker, Bakersfield, and James R. Baker in Canada.
