(WOODLAND) The funeral for Rene Henderson Yates, 83, of Woodland was Monday, October 26, 2020, at 2 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church with Bro. Terry Eason and Bro. David Daniel officiating. Burial followed in the adjoining cemetery.

Mrs. Yates died Friday, October 23, at Traylor's Nursing Home in Roanoke.

A Randolph County native, Mrs. Yates was born July 27, 1937, the daughter of Frank Henderson, Sr. and Claudia Parmer Henderson. She was faithful member of Providence Baptist Church, where she played the organ for many years, and worked as a seamstress for Bremen-Bowdon Investment Company.

Survivors include her daughter, Debra Y. Bailey (Michael) of Woodland; grandson, Kevin Gosdin (Amanda) of Woodland; and three great-grandchildren, Tyler Gosdin, Alyssa Gosdin, and Kaden Gosdin. Mrs. Yates was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Ray Yates; and brother, Junior Henderson.

Pallbearers were Tyler Gosdin, Kaden Gosdin, Michael Watts, Brayden Watts, Riley Barngrover and Eric Dye. Honorary pallbearers were Davy Spratlin, Jeremy Yates and Michael Crenshaw.
