Bobby served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict, receiving many honors, including the Combat Infantry Badge, Army Commendation Medal, Army Occupation Medal, Korean Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal. He and Betty Walkup were married on June 4, 1954 in McAlester. They were the parents of Jo Beth Tinker and Tammy Lee Tinker Stanton. He worked as a route salesman for Roselawn Milk Co. and later for Meadow Gold Milk Co.
