Adolph Eure entered this earthly world on June 29, 1938 to the late Isaac L. and Daisy F. Eure. He was educated in the schools of Gates County and graduated from Buckland High School in 1957. After graduating from high school, he moved to Plainfield, NJ to try out the city life while attending barber school. While in New Jersey, he married the love of his life for 61 years, Joyce H. Eure.

To this union, five children were born, Edward R. Eure, who preceded him in death, Dennis Eure and Morris Eure of the home. Monica Horton-Wiggins (John) of Gatesville and Phillip Eure of Gatesville, NC. Three grandchildren, Phenicia Horton of Gatesville, Emmanuel Horton of Phoenix, AZ and Ayanna Eure of Raleigh, NC. One great-grandson and his best friend, Kannon Horton, of Gatesville. Two sisters, Daisy Brunson and Mildred Melton both of Gatesville, NC. Five sister-n-laws, two brother-n-laws, and one special cousin/brother-n-law, Clifton (Poochie) and “lil sister” Ella Langston.

To provide for his growing family, he took a job at Newport News Shipbuilding & Drydock. After working there for 32 years, he retired and worked for Gates Co. Public Schools for 10 years while still enjoying his craft of barbering.

Adolph was a man that many considered a “jack of all trades”. He loved to hunt, play cards, work on anything, and garden; but most of all, he loved the Lord and his family. He gave his life to the Lord at an early age when he joined Lebanon Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was a faithful member and trustee until his health no longer allowed him to attend. Although his body wasn’t in church, the church was still in him. He loved his church and he loved his pastor. He was also a faithful member of Jephthah Lodge #174 and Ruth Chapter #598 O.E.S.

On October 9th ,2020, Adolph peacefully left this world in favor of his heavenly home with his family by his bedside. And his victory on that day is what we will continue to celebrate so long as we inhabit this earth.

A celebration of life will take place on Thursday October 15, 2020 at 11:00am at Lebanon Grove Baptist Church. A visitation and viewing will take place on Wednesday October 14, 2020 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm
