JoAnn was a wonderful mother and friend. She was patient, kind, a good listener and had a sweet and gentle spirit. With a true servant’s heart, she always put others first. She loved to sing, play the piano, sew, work in the garden and cook. Her greatest desire in life was to be a mom, and what a beautiful mother she was. Her children and grandchildren were blessed by her kindness and positive outlook. Her family will miss her Sunday lunches, biscuits and gravy, strawberry jam, birthday pie, chicken casserole, fried okra and homemade hot chocolate with toast, to name a few.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 54 years Earl Raymond Baker, her brothers James, Gerald and Weldon Deen, sister Kathy Deen Mortenson and a niece Pam Bachman.
Survivors include sons Tim (Deanah) Baker of Springdale and Michael (Catherine) Baker of Fayetteville, daughters Joy Baker of Springdale and Melanie Herman (Jeff) of Collierville, Tennessee, eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Nedra Frain of Rogers and niece Patti Gay of Rogers.
Pallbearers will be JoAnn’s grandchildren: Grant Herman, Justin Baker, Gracyn Herman, Rachel Baker, John Riley Baker, Thomas Baker, Elizabeth Baker, and Evan Baker.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 4, 2020 from 10:00am to 1:00pm at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale. A graveside service will follow at 2:00pm at Bluff Cemetery.
