Archibald Lee "Arch" Rawls was born on October 20, 1879 in Robertson County, Tennessee, the son of David Leonard Rawls (1856–1943) and his 1st wife Elvira Frances "Fannie" (Ennis) Rawls (1852–1882).

A resident of Nashville since 1898, he was married to Velma Lowe (1891–1961), and she was the daughter of Melza G Lowe (1849–1933) and his wife Avondale "Avie" (Bethel) Lowe (1859–1932).

Arch was a retired bookkeeper for J S Reeves, a wholesale dry goods company, and was living at 2009 Lombardy Avenue in rural Nashville. He was 84 years old, a widower and had leukemia when he died of a cerebral thrombosis at Park View Hospital on September 1, 1964 after a fall in July.

Survivors included his daughter Avondale Rawls of Nashville, brothers Thomas B Rawls and Porter Rawls of Los Angeles CA and sisters Mrs Susie R Browning and Mrs George Liddle of Nashville and Mrs Ernest Dillard of Springfield.

Funeral Services were held at Hillsboro Presbyterian Church, and burial was on September 3rd in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Nashville.
