He retired from Perlick Corporation after 30 years of service.
Joe is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joan; three children, Joe (Jean), Dawn (Bob) Schoen and Ken "Chip" (Donna); six grandchildren, Joseph Runte IV, Amber (Evan) Groth, Bob Jr. (Jessica) Schoen, Sarah (Dion Ashley) Schoen, Katelyn (Kiegan) Nelson, and Tyler Runte; six great-grandchildren, Payton, Nia, Charlotte, Porter, Evelyn and Georgia; also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He also liked to hunt the land with family and friends and continued the traditions by teaching his sons and grandchildren. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. After retirement, Joe and Joan enjoyed traveling to Alaska and various places abroad and wintering in Arizona.
