Royse was born in Amarillo, Texas on February 4, 1962 to Opal Darlene and Alvin Short. He was the middle child of three boys. Royse loved the Dallas Cowboys. He worked for Wellborn signs in Amarillo Texas for more than 14 years as a painter and fabricator. Bryce is preceded in death by his mother and father, Opal and Alvin Short, his younger brother, Tracey Short, and a great-niece, Cydney Derwey-Short, four uncles, Harold Joe Short, Ricky Short, Connis Fisher, and Joyce Ray Fisher. Royse leaves behind his wife Martha Short of Amarillo, daughter Michelle Short of Amarillo, grandchildren Maddox and Madison of Amarillo. His brother Russell Short of North Richland Hills, Tx. Three nieces, Jesseka Short of Arlington, Tx and Brandy and Sidney Short of Amarillo. A nephew, Saber Short, of Amarillo. Six great nieces and nephews; one of which he raised, Latorianna Maddox-Short. His uncle Ronnie Short and wife Lovera , both of Amarillo and Aunt Derlene Whitman of San Antonio, Texas. For step children and their spouses, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of cousins and dear friends.
