Dorman Rlee Jones was born on June 20, 1927 in O'Brien, Texas to Robert Edward Lee and Ozella Herring Jones. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. On October 8, 1954, he married Zelma Rene Hill in Mt. Enterprise, Texas, and they recently celebrated 66 years of marriage. For 40 years, Dorman was a Deacon and very active and supportive of his church, Central Baptist Church. He taught Sunday School for 34 years, was a member of the American Legion of Katy, and a member of Telephone Pioneers.

Dorman Rlee Jones passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2020, at his home in Katy, at the age of 93.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchildren, Cheri Roden.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 2, 2020 at the Schmidt Funeral Home Grand Parkway Chapel, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Larry Maddox officiating. Interment in Houston National Cemetery.
