Obit: William M Ball was born Sept 20, 1819, State of Illinois; Died July 14, 1909, aged 89y 9m 22d. Was married to Frances Lisle January 29, 1849. There were born to this union 6 children, 3 sons and 3 daughters. He leaves the companion of his youth with whom he traveled 60 years, 5 months and 15 days, 2 sons and 2 daughters and a host of friends.
He volunteered and served his country under the flag of our nation in the civil war. Was united to the church of Christ most 60 years ago and was baptized by Hiram Warner. Was an Elder of the old Brick church for more than 40 years. Was a doctor of medicine for many years. Was a man of strong conviction of right and wrong; was a true American citizen, a model christian, a devoted and generous father, a true and loving husband. He came to Gentry county, MO in 1844 and entered the land on which he died. The funeral was conducted by Elder J D McClure, from Rev 14-13 "Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth yea, Saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them."
