Mrs. S. H. (Margaret Missouri Ball) Crawford was born 10-2-1837 in Greene County, Missouri. Her father, Strother Ball, came from Missouri and was listed on the Denton County census of 1860. His sons, B.H., James, and E. E., all had adjoining farms. Margaret survived her husband, Samuel Harlan Crawford, by twenty years and lived with her daughter, Cora Emma (Crawford) Thomas until Cora's death on 1-8-1929. Margaret then lived with her daughter, Donna (Crawford) Grasty until her death on 2-15-1931.
