Last rites for Jeff Davis were held today Dec 5 1977 ,Monday at 2 p.m.from the Thompsonville Methodsit Church with Rev.Tom Hogan pastor of the Eagle Pass First Methodist Church,and the Rev H.C.Newman of the Thompsonville Mrthodist Church officiating.
Mr. Davis died in the Veteran's Hospital in Temple Tx Saturday at 3:30 p.m.Buriel was in the Thompsonville cemetery under the direction of Seydler-Hill funeral home.
A resident of Route 2 of Thompsonville Community Mr DAvis was born in Thompsonville Community on Nov 3 1894 the son of J.E.J. Davis and Emma McCoy Davis.natives respectively of Gonzales County.He was a rancher and a farmer and belonged to the Thompsonville Methodist church, the Waelder American Legion and the Gonzales Veterans of Foreign Wars. He served in World War I as a sergeant in the 36th Division of the U.S. Army. He was married on December 16, 1919 to Sadie Brown.
