Hal Beman, prominent banker and civic leader, died Thursday at his reticence, 2813 Hillcrest Ave. Funeral services will be held at the graveside in Summerville Cemetery at 4 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. John W. P. Oliver officiating. Mr. Beman was a retired senior vice president of the Georgia Railroad Bank and Trust Co., a director of the Georgia Railroad and Banking, Co. and the First Railroad Banking Co. He was president and director of the Citizens Bank of Warrenton, Ga., and a member of the American Bankers Association. Mr. Beman was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Augusta and a member of the board of directors of the Citizens Bank of Warrenton, Ga. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Marie Key Beman of Augusta; one son, Hal D. Beman Jr. of Augusta; and one sister, Mrs. Henry L. Sutton of Yakima, Wash. The family requests that memorials be made to Nacoochee School in Raven Gap, Ga. Friends may call at the residence. Augusta Chronicle- May 14, 1971
