John Connelly was born in 1794 in Maryland. Ann Weatherell was born Feb. 20, 1800 in the District of Columbia. They were there married and had ten children. The family moved to Springfield, Ill., in 1837.
Mr. Connelly was Register of the United States Land Office, in Springfield, during the administration of President Pierce, and part of the administration of President Buchanan. He also, at various times, filled a number of local offices.
