Edna Etoile Beard Steglich, 89, of Bartlett, Texas died Monday, April 14, 2003 at Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas.

Family Visitation will be 6 - 8 PM Wednesday at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, Texas. Celebration of Life Services will be 4:30 PM Thursday, April 17, 2003 at Providence Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at the Beard Cemetery in Granger, Texas.

Edna Etoile Steglich was born November 11, 1913 to Robert Carl and Annie Maude (Bryan) Beard in Granger, Texas. She graduated from Granger High School in 1932 and from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in 1953. Edna was married to Louie E. Steglich in 1936 and has lived on a farm near Bartlett since. She taught school at Pecan, Heidenheimer, Davilla, and Jarrell. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who loved her family as well as gardening, cooking, and entertaining guests.

Edna is preceded in death by her parents, Robert C. Beard and Annie M. Beard; husband, Louie E. Steglich; four sisters, Margaret Beard, Ivy B. Smith, Rowena A. Johnson, and Winnie D. Tidwell.

Survivors include her son, Robert L. Steglich and wife, Joyce M. of Bartlett; daughter, Etoile E. Steglich of Bartlett; sister, Myrtle B. Zett and husband, Frank of Austin; grandchildren, Robert W. Steglich and wife, Evelyn of Holland, Melanie M. Roberts and husband, Ray of Jackson, MI., Rhonda K. Snyder and husband, Andy of Holland, and Kevin T. Steglich and wife, Windy of Bartlett; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Steglich, Robert W. Steglich, Mark Zett, James C. Tidwell, Michael D. Tidwell, Reagan Smith, Glen Smith, and Ray Geurink.

Honorary pallbearers will be Maurice Steglich and Lenwood Steglich.
