Roland O. Cornman, 68, of 623 Main St., Freeport, a lifelong resident of the Allegheny Valley area died at 9:16 a.m. Wednesday in Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights, after a four-year illness. Born Sept. 4, 1903 in Kittanning, he was a son of William and Rose (Johns) Cornman. He was employed as a coal miner for 20 years in the now defunct Hick’s Coal Company Mine, Butler Junction. He was last employed by Freeport Water Company. He was a member of Free Methodist Church at Freeport and Freeport Eagles Lodge. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Della (Booher) Cornman; three sons, Robert, Thomas and James, all of Freeport; four daughters, Mrs. Donald (Betty Lou) Mohney, Mrs. Harry (Doris) Bollinger, and Mrs. Luigi (Rosetta) DiGiacobbe, all of Freeport, and Mrs. Patrick (Mary Belle) McGuire of Youngwood; a brother, Arthur of Pittsburgh; two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Mohney and Mrs. Ocie Schweitzer, both of West Kittanning; 30 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Burial will be Saturday in McVille Cemetery.
