Connie proudly served for the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of the Greencastle VFW. Connie worked many years at IBM as a customer engineer and field engineer. He was a pilot and enjoyed flying. Connie also was a flight instructor at Greencastle Airport. He also liked to go camping, traveling, computers, but most of all spending time with his grandchildren. Connie will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death three siblings - Lowell Alward, Gordon Alward and Marie Nickell.
He is survived by two sons; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 23, 2020 at 1:30 PM at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville with visitation from 12 PM until the services at 1:30 PM. Inurnment will be in New Providence Cemetery, Greencastle.
