Andrew Omer Schacher, 87, Fosston, died Friday, June 1, 1990, in Fosston Municipal Hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Fosston. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service, and an hour before services in Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home Fosston.

Andrew Omer Schacher was born Jan. 13, 1903, the son of Peter and Cathrine Schacher, in Sletten Township, Polk County, Minn., where he grew up and attended school. He married Frances Abel Sept. 22, 1930, in Fosston. They lived and farmed in Sletten Township until 1939, when they moved to Heier Township, where they farmed until retiring in 1935. They moved into Fosston in 1982.

Survivors are his wife, daughters, Mary Wallen and Florence (Mrs. Ernest) Nesvold, both of Fosston, and Lois (Mrs. John) Torbett, Rogers, Ark, sons, William, Minneapolis, and Donald, Lengby, Minn., 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and sisters, Katie Abeldgaard and Alvina Somdalem, both of Fosston.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, two sisters; and an infant daughter.
