Born August 9, 1910 at Grethel, he was a son of the late Webster and Ida Hamilton Akers. He was a retired steel worker, last employed by Great Lakes Steel Company in, Ecorse Michigan. Mr Akers was a veteran of World War II army service. Ha was a member of the V.F.W. D.A.V. And American Legion, post No. 129
He is survived by his wife,Mrs. Dora Edith Conn Akers; a stepson, Wesley Boyd, of Lincoln Park, Michigan, and a step daughter, MrsCarla Wells, of Ecorse, Michigan; four brothers, Marion Akers, of Honaker, Ky, Carl Akers, of Harold, Ky, Monroe Akers, of Detroit, Michigan, Wilburn Akers, of Betsy Layne , Ky ;four sisters, Mrs Nancy Leroy, of Stanville, Ky, Mrs Abigail Schultz, of Prestonsburg, Ky, Mrs Liza Jane Kidd, of Pikeville, Ky, and Mrs Nellie Martin, of Marion, Ohio; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
