James Stanley Alley, 63, of Afton, died Saturday, September 15, 2007, at his residence.
Born May 22, 1944, in Bluefield, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Robert Alley and Wanda Pauline Dotson Alley.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert "Bobby" Alley (and an infant unnamed son).
James was a construction worker employed by Delmas Baker.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Elizabeth Truslow Alley; a daughter, Wanda Powers and her husband, Rickey, of Afton; a son, James Alley Jr. and his wife, Brenda, of Staunton; two brothers, Stewart Alley and his wife, Jan, of Michigan, and Donald Alley of Maryland; and two grandchildren, April Marie Powers and Rickey Eugene Powers Jr. of Afton.
A graveside service will be held noon Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at the Alley Family Cemetery at the home of his daughter, Wanda Powers and her husband Rickey in Afton.
