A life long sufferer from kidney trouble, George Barton, aged 71 years, a retired farmer well known In DeKalb county, especially in the vicinity of Coruna, died Thursday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Menges, near Cedar Chapel.
Barton was born in Holmes county, Ohio, June 18, 1847, coming to DeKalb county with his father when just a boy. Reared on the farm, he devoted his life to farming until his health failed and since that time he had lived with his children Although his health had been poor for a long time he was not forced to take to his bed until last Sunday morning. Death came at 3 o'clock Thursday morning.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Frank Menges of Cedar Chapel, Mrs. Rolland Smalley of Delta Farms, Louisiana, and Mrs. Ida Grimm of Coldwater, Mich.; two sisters, Mrs. Frances Wiseman of Corunna. and Miss Ann Barton of Chicago.
