"Ed Bookout Dies At His Home Saturday"
Edd Bookout, life long resident of Taney county, died suddenly at his home Saturday, January 19, While he had not been too well for the past twenty-three years, death came unexpectedly from a heart attack.
Funeral services will be held today from the Whelchel Chapel with Rev. Ralph E. Cooke, Branson Bible Church, in charge of the services. Burial will be in the Ozark Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Bookout comes from a family of character and worth. He was born November 13, 1883 near Walnut shade, Missouri. He was one of six children of James and Sarah Bookout.
On March 4, 1917 he married Elsie Palmer. They had six children, two sons and four daughters.
All of his life was spent in the Walnut shade community where he engaged in farming. In 1926 he became a member of the Victor Missionary Baptist church.
He was 73 years, 1 month and 16 days old at the time of the death.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie, six children, Harvey Bookout, Branson; Ted Bookout, Branson, Mrs. Emma Moore, Ray Washington; Miss Marjorie Bookout, Kansas City, Missouri; Mrs. Archie Hartzel (Virginia), Branson; and Mrs. Frances Wyman, Reiter. also, two brothers, Lonnie of Forsyth, Clem of Branson and one sister, Ethel Bookout of Branson, and eleven grandchildren survive.
