Found in The Boston Globe 28 Nov 1951: BARRETT-In Dorchester, Nov. 26, 1951, Joseph F., aged 11 years, 3 months and 15 days. Beloved son of Joseph F. and Lorna F. (nee Gamble). Funeral from his residence, 77 Thetford av., Thursday, Nov. 29, at 8 a. m. High Mass of Requiem in St. Matthew's Church at 9 a. m.

Per his brother Paul's obituary, he died of Hodgkins Disease.
