Mrs. McGahey died Monday, September 28, 2020 in nursing home in Lindale, Texas. She was born in Starrville, Texas on October 8, 1931 to the late Erwin William and Sarah Bennie (Johnson) Burge. Mrs. McGahey was a longtime resident of Red Springs, Texas. She was a member of the Damascus Baptist Church where she previously worked as the secretary and played the piano for services. Mrs. McGahey owned and operated an Antique shop in Winona, Texas and worked as an accountant for independent oil producers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin McGahey and sisters, Juanita Ansley and Ruby Blackstone. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Lowe of Red Springs, Texas; son, Doyle McGahey of Lindale, Texas; grandchildren, Blake Wintters, Bruce Lowe, and Brent McGahey; great grandchildren, Justyn Wintters, Tayllor Wintters, and Karlie Lowe.
