WESLACO--James Heald, 21, and J. C. Alfred Homesley, 24, both of Weslaco, were instantly killed Wednesday about midnight, when the sedan in which they were riding, driven by Homesley, crashed into the rear of a truck and trailer belonging to the Lone Star Bag and Bagging Company of Houston, on the Valley's main highway, No. 4, two miles east of Weslaco.

The two young men were the Valley's 62nd and 63rd traffic victims of the year.

According to officers' investigation Thursday, the truck had been forced off the highway early in the evening and was stuck in the mud. A Jones Transfer company truck from Harlingen had been called to pull the Houston truck out and had just done so when the accident occurred. The truck and trailer were entirely on the highway at the time.

Poor visibility caused by a heavy rain was blamed for the tragedy.

The two young men were on a business trip at the time of the accident. Before leaving home they had changed clothes, leaving all identification papers behind, and their families were not aware of their deaths until Thursday morning.

Heald, the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Heald, Weslaco, was survived by his parents, his widow, Zudora, a baby daughter, and three sisters. Mrs. C. E. Lawson, San Benito, and Josie and Ruth Heald, Weslaco.

Homesley was the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Homesley, Weslaco, and was survived by his parents and two brothers, Lawrence and Aubrey, Weslaco.
