Born in Leonard, Oklahoma, he was the son of Albert and Letti (Bartlett) Blankenship. He married Wynona Tabb on June 13, 1936, in Frederick. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of World War II. A resident of Eufaula, he died at his home at the age of 82. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Monroe Blankenship, Johnny Blankenship and A.Q. Blankenship.
