Bobby Gene Herd entered the gates of Heaven to the arms of Jesus on September 24, 2020 with his family around him. Bob was born on January 17, 1941 to Ora (Brown) and Quimby Herd in Lutie, Missouri (Theodosia). He was preceded in death by his parents Ora and Quimby Herd. He is survived by his son Tommy Herd; grandchildren, Courtney and Garrett Herd; his brother Billy Joe Herd and wife Jamey.
Bob loved to go have breakfast in Republic and Ash Grove with several friends. He also tried to celebrate his birthday every year with his brother as they were born on the same day five years apart. January being January, that wasn’t always possible due to weather.
Bob was an avid horseman who owned Fox Trotters. He loved attending the Fox Trotters at Ava, Missouri every year doing trail rides with fellow riders and friends. He was a lifetime member of the Missouri Fox Trotting Association and attended every year for 45 years.
Bob attended the Cowboy Church in Springfield until his health failed and he moved to the Ash Grove Nursing Home.
