Funeral services for Ozark County native and lifelong resident Ora M. Herd, 77, of Theodosia were held last Saturday, May 27, at the Lutie True Hope General Baptist Church in Theodosia, Revs. Walter Wray and Doyle Turner officiating.

Mrs. Herd died suddenly at her home last Tuesday afternoon, May 23, 1989.

She was born at Lutie (now Theodosia) Dec. 14, 1911, the daughter of Jesse L. and Nora (Smith) Brown. She was married at Lutie Feb. 24, 1933, to Quimby Herd, who preceded her in death on July 28, 1987. She was a homemaker and mother, and a member of the True Hope Baptist Church.

Mrs. Herd is survived by two sons, Billy Joe Herd of Sparta and Bobby Gene Herd of Clever, three brothers, Roy Brown of Wasola, Berry Brown of Theodosia and Estel Brown of Kennewick, Wash.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother and one sister.
Interment was in the Lutie Cemetery at Theodosia under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home of Gainesville.
