Born circa 1862, most likely in Jo Daviess County or Jefferson County, Illinois. Father was William H. Hutson (possibly William Henry as well). Mother was Cecelia Hodgin. There is debate as to his father and whether he left his family in Tennessee and moved to Illinois to start a new family, or if he was someone else. Still researching.

Cecelia Hodgin gave permission for him to marry Margaret in Clark County, Arkansas, and stated she was the only surviving parent.

There is a court case where an indictment was filed against him for having and wanting to make alcohol. This was during prohibition. In the paperwork of the indictment, there is a letter from Dr. J. S. Moore of the Moore & Wallis Sanitarium in Arkadelphia, Arkansas dated 2 February 1929, stating: "I examined and proscribed(?) for Mr. W. H. Hutson today. I have advised him to remain in bed. I do not think it advisible for him to be up."

There is nothing in the paperwork of the suit that shows if it was ever taken to trial or if he died before then. I did not find him in the 1930 census
